What is the difference between the different levels?

Intensity of the Retinol activity, i.e. the percentage of encapsulated retinol.

How fast can I see results?

You will start seeing a change in your skin after about 2 weeks of using your R series. Very slight peeling may occur for the first week to 2 weeks.

How is it different to prescribed Retinoid/Tretinoin?

Tretinoin can cause severe skin dryness, peeling and redness and can contain ingredients such as paragons etc.

Should I apply a moisturiser or oil after my esmi R Series Retinol?

We recommend you apply 2-3 drops of a Skin Treat oil after your Retinol by pressing it lightly over your skin. Always follow with an eye product such as the Eye Delight Eye balm.

Will my skin feel sore when using the esmi R Series?

Very sensitive skin may experience slight soreness in the first 2 weeks. Otherwise there should be no soreness when using the esmi R Series.

What is the difference between esmi R Series and other retinol/retinoids?

esmi has an encapsulated Retinol formulation meaning you get a more potent but stable delivery of Vitamin A.

How do I store my esmi R Series Retinol?

Your Retinol is best stored away from direct sunlight and heat in a cool dry area.

Does the effectiveness and intensity of the esmi R Series lessen over time?

Even though Retinoid/Retinols’ nature is to become less active over time and exposure to oxygen, your esmi R Series retinol is encapsulated meaning its preserved for longer. We recommend you use your esmi R Series within 6 months after opening.

I am using a prescription from my DR that’s for my skin (eg. Tretinoin/Roaccutane/Sun Sensitising medication), can I use the esmi R Series?

It is best to avoid any additional retinol product when already applying and taking sun sensitising medications. Please consult with your doctor first.
